Reuse Better

A package of paint that has never been opened can last for years. If a small amount of paint is left over, use it, for example, to paint a detail on another wall. When you have finished painting, you can save the paint for future use, but you will need to make sure that the packaging is tightly closed so that the paint does not deteriorate quickly. However, even in a well-sealed package, the pain will eventually deteriorate after several months. Consider offering the paint to a school or other institution that can make good use of the paint.

WHAT YOU SHOULDN'T DO
• Do not place packages containing liquid product residues in the containers.

• Do not dispose of liquid waste products, including thinners, in domestic sewage and/or waterways.

• Do not leave packaging in unsuitable places (vacant lots, etc.).

WHAT TO DO
• If the package contains a thin layer of dry product on the bottom and walls, the package can be sent for recycling.

• To dispose of undesirable leftovers of liquid paint, place the liquid product in a container with absorbent material, such as cat sand or newsprint, and allow it to dry out of the reach of children and animals.

• Contact your municipality or an Ecocenter in your area of residence to give the appropriate destination to the product.
