How many times have we left small spaces without soul because we did not know how to decorate them? Some corners just do not stand out and need a new colour to pop out. For this reason, CIN, the Iberian leader Portuguese brand in the coatings market, gives you some ideas on how to confer a touch of joy that renews any space.

As a first tip, CIN highlights the 60-30-10 rule. This colour combination system can be used in any space helping to create a unique and harmonious decoration environment.

Choose a dominant colour for 60% of the room – the walls, for example –, another colour in 30% of the space, which may be in some corner or prominent element – just a feature wall or the ceiling – and finally a more discreet touch of colour (10%) with a stronger tone that brings small details to life.

As a rule, luminous colours make small spaces visually larger, which is why white is commonly chosen for the room and light colours for the different elements. But this is not the only option!

We have numerous colour combinations:

If you don't want to risk with vibrant colours and white is not an option as it is too obvious, the neutral range is always the right choice. The #E675 Carrara White, a slightly greyish white, or the #E733 Soft Grey, a light grey, are two ideal CIN tones for capturing light and creating the illusion of greater amplitude. The touch of vivaciousness can be achieved with bright fabrics colours in cushions or carpets, or coloured decorative elements.

If the area has a back wall opposed to the door where the light enters, choose a dark and elegant colour such as #E734 Charcoal, which will create a depth feeling. In other CIN colour ranges, we also highlight #E694 Burgundy, #E702 Petrol Blue or #E738 Rainforest which, apart from depth, also confers colour and vivaciousness.

CIN's September colour, #E736 Red Clay, is a good option and is ideal for strong and vibrant personalities, as it creates memorable and striking spaces. Vivaciousness and depth can also be achieved by painting the walls with an intense or dark tone in contrast to the white ceiling. In this case, it is necessary to adjust the lighting to visually separate the walls making the best use of that contrast.

If you wish to add a pop of colour without risking too much, pastel tones are our best allies. Pinks such as #E690 New Blush or #E718 Rose Breeze, are ideal to sweeten a space. Alternatively, greens such as #E724 Succulent Green or #E737 Olive create an harmonious connection with nature, while the blues #E721 Glassy Blue or #E739 Light Blue fill the spaces with calm and tranquillity.
