A cooler home in Tenerife thanks to ‘cool roof’ technology

In a climate where high temperatures are a daily reality for much of the year, improving the thermal performance of homes is essential to ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. It was with this aim in mind that a private home-owner in Tenerife opted for a ‘cool roof’ solution for his house’s roof.

Covering an area of 110 m², the project delivered immediate and clearly noticeable results. Following the application of the reflective solution to the roof, a 10°C reduction in the tile temperature was recorded using a thermometer. Inside the home, the perceived temperature dropped by around 6°C, contributing to a significantly more comfortable environment.

As well as improving comfort inside the home, this reduction in temperature also helps to reduce the need for air conditioning systems, leading to lower energy consumption during the hottest months.
