Start by carefully degreasing the tiles, washing them with hot water and a neutral detergent;
Then rinse them with clean water.
STEP 2: Repair small cracks with filler
If you want to hide the joints or repair small cracks or imperfections, fill them with Hantek smoothing compound.
STEP 3: Aqua Primer - the essential primer
Aqua Primer: A primer that evens out absorption and ensures strong adhesion on smooth, non-porous surfaces like tiles, helping to prevent peeling.

1. Do I really need to use a primer before painting?
Yes, it’s essential. Surfaces such as tiles are smooth and non-porous. A primer, like our Aqua Primer, creates the adhesion ‘bridge’ needed so the topcoat paint doesn’t crack or peel, ensuring long-lasting results.
2. How durable is tile paint?
When the surface is properly prepared and the full system is used (primer + topcoat), the paint can last for many years, even in high-moisture areas like kitchens and bathrooms.
3. Does the paint withstand direct contact with water in the shower?
Yes, the CINACRYL system has been formulated to withstand high-humidity environments and frequent splashing, making it an excellent solution for renewing shower-area walls.
4. Can I use this paint on floor tiles?
The CINACRYL system is specifically designed for vertical surfaces (walls). For floors - which require much higher wear resistance - we recommend using our dedicated floor-coating solutions to ensure maximum durability.
