If until recently our home was our refuge of rest and fun, now we have to use it as a workspace, changing our mindset and our behaviour. Knowing the influence that colours can have on the way we feel and act, CIN, a Portuguese brand and Iberian leader in the coatings market, has provided a range of key colours to decorate your home office and set leisure and duty apart in a harmonious balance.

The office is the place that characterizes each worker and, although the computer and the mobile phone are common elements nowadays, there is one indispensable detail: a decoration that customizes the space and makes us feel good! Whether it's a minimalist style or one that takes us into the middle of the century, the important thing is that your home office merges with the other rooms in perfect harmony, taking into consideration the influence of colours on our focus and performance at work.

First of all, we must eliminate the monotony of the environment around us. Although nude colours help us to concentrate, they actually make the space duller. We can create an office with light or pastel tones, but we must include a touch of colour and brightness that can activate our brain for daily challenges. With the workers’ current needs in mind, CIN has selected a set of key tones.

White is always our best ally to create serene environments. But why not give it a different touch? We can use signature tones, like Linen # E684 white cream, for greater freshness, or Carrara White # E675, a slightly grey tone reminiscent of marble. In addition, if the space is small, the brightness of the white will help to bring a greater sense of dimension.

You can also opt for shades of light grey, like the new Soft Gray #E733 or Greige #E683, a very timeless and neutral blend of grey and beige.

But how can we add that touch of excitement that every 'home office' needs? For more creativity, we advise the use of yellows, but if we need more peace and memory, the right choice will be on blues. Greens and pinks are synonymous of serenity, while oranges help to keep us active and awake for everyday life.

The Colour Revelation catalogue features other more vibrant shades, such as Turmeric #E720, Into the Blue #E696, Caribbean #E705 or Mustard #E714, which should be applied in small doses (edges, prints or drawings) with joyful details without going over the top. If we are colour lovers and want to give our workspace a different touch, then we should go for powdered or pastel shades, like the colour of the year Pink Oyster # E735, the new Light Blue # E739 or Olive # E737. In this way we can paint half a wall or create, for example, a geometric wall, always combining with a neutral tone to avoid excessive stimuli.

Colours are our great ally in a house, extending our personality to every nook and cranny. That's why it is important to think not only about how the walls are painted, but also about the shades of furniture or objects that come into view daily. The premise is clear: opt for a neutral base, adding bright colours (to a greater or lesser extent, depending on taste and irreverence of the spaces).
