Cities are getting hotter. But roofs can be part of the solution.
Rising temperatures and the urban ‘heat island’ effect have a direct impact on comfort, energy efficiency and the operating costs of buildings.
Much of the heat absorbed by a building comes from the roof. By using reflective coatings, it is possible to significantly reduce heat absorption and improve a building’s overall performance. • Up to 2–3°C cooler inside buildings.• Up to a 15% reduction in energy consumption.
• Increased roof durability.
A smart solution.Low cost and high impact.
‘Cool roofs’ coatings are developed using advanced technology and are capable of reflecting a high percentage of solar radiation and dissipating heat more efficiently.
Unlike conventional roofing, which accumulates heat throughout the day, reflective roofing helps maintain lower surface temperatures, contributing to:• greater thermal comfort; • reduced need for air conditioning; • lower environmental impact; • improved energy efficiency in buildings.
Reflective technology for more efficient roofs.
Imperflex Roofings has been developed to protect and renovate roofs, combining waterproofing, durability and thermal performance.
Applying this coating provides a simple, affordable and highly effective solution to today’s climate challenges.• High solar reflectance. • Reduction in the roof’s surface temperature. • Greater indoor thermal comfort. • Reduced strain on air conditioning systems. • Contributes to reducing the heat island effect. • Compatible with renovation and maintenance projects. • Increased roof durability.
‘Cool Roofs. Smart Choice’
The international campaign ‘Cool Roofs. Smart Choice’ was created by the Nova Paint Club, an international organisation of which CIN is a founding member. It was launched simultaneously in all Nova Paint Club member countries, with a strong digital component and coordinated content sharing, involving independent paint and coating manufacturers from around the world.
By launching this global campaign, we are reinforcing the role of paints as an active part of the solution for a more eco-efficient future, demonstrating that something as simple as painting a roof or rooftop improves thermal comfort, reduces energy consumption, and contributes to more sustainable cities. The Nova Paint Club brings together independent paint and coatings manufacturers from different countries with the aim of promoting innovative solutions to global climate and energy challenges.
